Super Bowl odds: Broncos are slight favorites over Seahawks

Oddsmakers are having a tough time pinning the odds for Super Bowl XLVIII between the Broncos and Seahawks, according to reports.

If you're intrigued by the matchup between the Seattle Seahawks' #1 ranked defense and the Denver Broncos' record-setting #1 offense, you're not alone. Sports bettors and oddsmakers are having a heck of a time, too.

Denver is enjoying -2 to -3 point spreads as of the Monday morning following the Conference Championship Games, according to multiple sports books, but those number didn't come easily. Those are the result of a notable shift after some books opened with the Super Bowl as a pick-em game Sunday night, and others even opened with Seattle as high as two-point favorites.

Denver ended up earning 90% of bets, according to one report, shifting the line in the Broncos' favor.

"We're just trying to figure out what the market will be and get a feel of where money will go," Jay Kornegay, who runs the LVH sports book, told ESPN. "At this point it doesn't take a lot to move the line."

If the line holds, it'll be Denver's 30th straight game as a favorite.

The Broncos have been Super Bowl favorites most of the season, although the Seattle Seahawks had been favored with 19/10 odds recently in the postseason (Denver's odds were set at a slightly less 2/1). Bettors have been favoring both of these teams heavily throughout the year, and the line illustrates that fans should be treated to a good game February 2nd.

"Take your best shot," one sports bookie told ESPN. "It's an intriguing matchup with no clear cut favorite."
