Report: Broncos optimistic that Moreno, Carter will be ready for Super Bowl

Knowshon Moreno and Tony Carter should be ready for Super Bowl XLVIII, according to reports.

It was a rough-and-tumble outing of football Sunday in the AFC Championship GameBill Belichick would even call it dirty - but the Broncos escaped as Conference Champions, and they escaped mostly unscathed.

Two Broncos players left the game early with injury, but early reports indicate the Broncos are optimistic that they should be ready to help their Broncos in Super Bowl 48 on February 2nd. Running back Knowshon Moreno suffered a chest/rib injury, but ESPN's Josina Anderson reports his X-Rays returned negative. Cornerback Tony Carter, who was called upon to play a much larger role following the ACL injury to starting cornerback Chris Harris Jr., suffered an arm injury and a concussion. Mike Garafolo of FOX Sports reports Carter should also be ready to play.

As Garafolo points out, there's always more to the story than just bone when it comes to rib injuries, and the same definitely holds true of concussions. While both of these injuries are tricky, the Broncos' optimism is good news as these players get ready for the biggest game in their respective lives.
