MHR Hot Reads
I really do not understand the spread on this game. Given how badly the Kansas City Chiefs have played down the stretch and how dominating the Indianapolis Colts have been during the same period, this spread is confusing. The Colts are at home even. The only thing that may give the Chiefs an edge is the fact that they lost to these same Colts just a few weeks ago in Arrowhead. Teams that lose in the regular season tend to learn more from the loss and play harder in the rematch, but still ... 2 points for the home team?
Even so, I think the game will be very close and I gave the nod to the better quarterback in Andrew Luck. Alex Smith was a ruined quarterback who is slowly regaining his confidence and resurrecting his career. He will be an above average, maybe even good, quarterback in this league with one more year under Andy Reid. Until then, I think he will falter under this kind of pressure - especially with a defense that is a shell of its early season self.
For Denver Broncos fans, this should be an entertaining game as our fanbase has a 2013 beef with both teams in this game. I would be more than happy to see either team lose today and again next week against Peyton Manning and the Broncos!
