MHR Review: Gameday Inactives • Scouting Report • Broadcast Map • Five Questions • Game Preview |
Just a few weeks ago, the Denver Broncos defense was beginning to become a major concern being ranked dead last in pass defense and outside the top ten in rushing defense. Since then, they have been the best defense in the NFL and skyrocketing up the charts in nearly every meaningful category. That should bode well tonight against the San Francisco 49ers.
Must Reads
Colin Kaepernick has an innate ability to escape the pass rush for big plays and that is one area this Broncos defense has yet to master. Russell Wilson burned this defense badly for that overtime win in Week 3, so it is imperative that Jack Del Rio have the right game plan in place to contain the damage against this dynamic quarterback.
On the other side of the ball, Peyton Manning will be looking to break Brett Favre's record and I think he'll get it tonight. The 49ers defense is stout, but hurting badly at key positions on the defensive side of the ball. In typical Broncos fashion, they will lack that killer instinct after building a sizable lead and finish with a closer than it should have been victory.
Prediction: Broncos 31, 49ers 24.
