Broncos vs. Cardinals Injury Report: Danny Trevathan's probable, Drew Stanton will start for Carson Palmer

The Broncos injury report is delightfully boring this week (outside the long-awaited return of one starting linebacker). I hope to report more boring news every Friday for many weeks to come!

Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

Broncos Off the Injury Report this Week:

Von Miller, Ben Garland, Chris Harris Jr. and Ryan Clady all did not make an appearance on the injury report this week. Garland and Miller are not surprises as their injuries always appeared to be short term, but it's always nice to see guys get off the injury report.

For Harris this is further proof that he can put his ACL injury completely behind him. Every injury and athlete is different - I think we all need to be extremely happy that Harris and Miller's ACL recoveries both appear to be cases of athletes making a full recovery.

I am also thrilled to see Clady off the injury report. Maybe the early bye was great timing for him to give his foot a bit more time to adjust back to the NFL grind. Crossing my fingers Clady's foot remains off the injury report for the rest of the season!

Broncos New to the Injury Report this Week:

Virgil Green is new to the report after suffering a concussion during Week 3's game in Seattle. He has successfully completed the NFL concussion protocol and will be able to play on Sunday.

David Bruton was on the last injury report for his shoulder. This week he showed up for an ankle injury.

Louis Vasquez was not on the injury report last time around, but made an appearance earlier in the season with a back issue. This week Vasquez is on the report with a rib cage injury. This injury concerns me more than any of the others. Imagine how miserable you would be if you had a back and rib cage injury in the same month. Now imagine playing football. Ouch. How can this not affect his play? The guy is obviously tough but tough doesn't make it easier to breathe with a rib injury.

Repeat Broncos on the Injury Report:

Lerentee McCray is still recovering from his knee injury that kept him off the field in Seattle.

Quinton Carter and Brandon McManus are still on the injury report but their injuries don't seem to be anything to worry about.

And it's not like anyone will be paying much attention to McManus anyway this Sunday . . . oh wait . . .

I guess we get to see how McManus handles pressure now. At least it's a home game and 99 percent of the people in that stadium will want him to succeed.

Danny Trevathan is still on the report, but the big news here of course is that he's expected to play on Sunday. While I'm sure Del Rio will ease him back into things his first game back it will be fantastic to have him return to the field. While a lot of non-Bronco fans have no idea who Trevathan is, WE all know what a loss Travathan was to the team. Kudos to Brandon Marshall for stepping up in a big way these last few weeks.

John Fox on Trevathan being ready for full-time duty:

"We're going to be smart in how we use him. But it's a very strong possibility that he'll be active for the game."

Carson Palmer's nerve injury kept him from practicing all week with the Arizona Cardinals. Backup QB Drew Stanton, who started the last two games for the Cardinals, will start again on Sunday in Denver.
