Broncos Rams injury report: Ronnie Hillman out, Nate Irving (IR) to have surgery (updated)

Montee Ball returns to the field. That's the good news. On the other side it looks like Virgil Green will miss another week due to a lingering calf/knee injury. Three O-linemen also appear on the Broncos Friday injury report.

Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

It's Friday and that means it's time for the final injury report of the week.

Broncos new to the injury report

Ronnie Hillman is on the injury report for a foot strain. He did not practice and is week-to-week. As a reminder Hillman doesn't care about your fantasy team - he cares about winning the game.

While I'm sure Hillman will be excited to get back on the field as soon as possible a mid foot sprain isn't anything an injury you want to rush.

Also new to the injury report are two offensive linemen - because apparently there isn't enough to worry about O-line wise for this team. Ryan Clady was limited in practice with a groin issue and Orlando Franklin was limited with a knee issue. They are both probable for Sunday's game and it would be very surprising if they both didn't start.

If the Broncos O-line gets more banged up in St. Louis and ends up signing Richie Incognito next week I predict a "break the internet" type moment as soon as the media realizes the Broncos next opponent is the Miami Dolphins. (and no - this is not your cue to post those Kardashian photos in the comments section - thanks!)

Repeat Broncos on the injury report

As Nate Irving was put on season ending IR on Thursday, he will not be on the Broncos injury report going forward. Irving will soon be having surgery on his knee. Best of luck coming back from this injury Nate!

Virgil Green continues to be on the injury report which is a huge bummer as he is such a great blocker. Previously Green's injury was listed as 'calf', this week it's listed as 'knee'. Green was limited in practice last week - this week he is listed as a non-participant. So Green has clearly had some kind of setback.

Earlier in the week John Fox was asked if Green's injury was turning into something bigger and he gave his characteristic non-answer.

"Not really. It's just a healing process. We are taking it a day at a time and we'll see what tomorrow brings. It's a calf muscle."

Is it a calf problem or a knee problem or a calf problem that led to a knee problem? In the end all that matter is that it's a problem. Hopefully Green heals up fast.

Montee Ball (groin) has been upgraded from a limited participant last week to a full participant this week. Perfect timing considering Hillman's new injury. It should be interesting to see how Ball does this week. With CJ Anderson's impressive performance last week the Broncos should still be able to ease Ball back in.

Paul Cornick (shoulder) is still on the injury report but he has been upgraded to a limited participant this week which is encouraging.

Quinton Carter (hamstring), Steven Johnson (ankle), and Juwan Thompson (knee) are still on the injury report but as they were full participants both last week and this week it's just a matter of time before they fall off the chart. Good to see Carter hasn't had any setbacks with his hamstring injury.

Broncos off the injury report

Brandon McManus (right groin) is finally off the injury report. McManus has been dealing with a groin strain almost the entire season so it will be interesting to see how he does past 40 yards now. Wes Welker's back issue from last week also has improved and he is no longer listed in the injury report.
