The Denver Broncos come into this game with the 3rd ranked overall offense and 5th ranked overall defense, while ranked second in points per game on offense. However, its their 15th overall ranking in points given up per game that needs to improve. They will get a good opportunity to do just that against the struggling St. Louis Rams.
Must Reads
Jeff Fisher decided he had seen enough of rookie Austin Davis, even though the young quarterback flashed some ability earlier in the season, and has switched to veteran Shaun Hill. It's probably the smart choice given how poorly Davis has played lately and with their offensive line issues, it makes sense to bring in a veteran quarterback to deal with the terror that is Von Miller and DeMarcus Ware.
It may not matter who is playing quarterback though, because Peyton Manning and that high octane offense is going to be problematic enough for the Rams defense. I expect the Broncos offense to get on a roll at some point in this game to put the score out of reach in a series of consecutive drives to put together another blowout win for a team destined for the playoffs in six weeks.
Prediction: Broncos 38, Rams 16.
