Somehow, Broncos could be AFC's top seed by tonight
It seems almost unfathomable, but the Broncos could back into the top seed in the AFC tonight if the Colts beat the Patriots. There would a be a four-way tie at 7-3 in the AFC, and you eliminate the Chiefs quickly with the Broncos owning the head-to-head tiebreaker. Then, because none of the Broncos, Colts or Patriots swept the others, you go to common games. That goes nowhere (the Colts haven't played any other common opponent with the Broncos), so you go to AFC games, where the Broncos find an edge.
Broncos (7-3, 5-1 in AFC) Colts (7-3, 5-2 in AFC) Patriots (7-3, 5-2 in AFC) Bengals (6-3-1) Chiefs (7-3)Colts edge Patriots due to head-to-head record.
Of course, if the Patriots beat the Colts, they improve to 8-2 and put a stranglehold on that top seed. In other words... go Colts!
