Let's add injury to insult, shall we?
Denver Broncos wide receiver Wes Welker suffered a back injury on a brutal hit in the 3rd quarter of Sunday's loss that resulted in a tipped football and a Patriots interception.

While Welker was originally cleared to come back into the game, he and the trainers ultimately got wise and kept Welker out of the game. It's not known how serious Welker's injury is.
Update: John Fox on Monday said Welker suffered a back bruise and is day-to-day.
Nate Irving carted off
What appeared potentially more serious was the knee injury suffered by Broncos starting linebacker Nate Irving. Irving was carted off the field Sunday after hurting his left knee when Broncos teammate Chris Harris Jr. rolled into him. Irving was unable to put any weight on his left leg as he was helped off the field, and it wasn't long before he was ruled out for the game.
Irving was seen in crutches after the game, according to The Denver Post's Troy Renck.
We don't believe Broncos coach John Fox offered any updates on either player. The Broncos have not immediately returned our request for comment. We'll update as soon as we hear more, and if we don't, John Fox will address the injuries in his press conference at Dove Valley Monday.
