Julius Thomas warmed up Wednesday; Broncos 'optimistic' Brandon Marshall will clear concussion protocol

The three players injured during the Broncos' 39-36 win over the Dolphins all did not practice Wednesday, the Denver Post reports. Linebacker Brandon Marshall (concussion) and cornerbacks Aqib Talib (hamstring) and Kayvon Webster (shoulder) did not practice during the period open to reporters.

But there's good news on the Brandon Marshall front. Writes Troy Renck: The Broncos remain optimistic that Marshall will pass the league-mandated concussion protocol and be available to start Sunday against the Chiefs.

Tight end Julius Thomas, who missed Sunday's game with an ankle injury suffered against the Rams in Week 11, was thought to be limited in practice - he warmed up with a helmet during the portion of practice open to the media. But John Fox clarified that Thomas did not participate. Last week, Thomas was listed as questionable; with more practice this week he could see the field against the Chiefs.

Linebacker Danny Trevathan, who was placed on short-term IR and is not eligible to return to a game until December 14th when the Broncos play  the Chargers, was also back at practice.
