Odell Beckham Jr.'s catch caught Peyton Manning's eye

"That's just what Newman grads do."

New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. stunned the nation with his acrobatic, spectacular three-fingered touchdown catch against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday Night Football. The superlatives haven't stopped flowing since.

"That is absolutely impossible what he just did," NBC's Cris Collinsworth said at the time. "That may be the greatest catch I've ever seen in my life."

LeBron James chimed in. calling it the "greatest catch ever."

Add Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning to the list.

"That was as fine a catch as I've seen," Manning said after Broncos practice Wednesday.

Manning said he was happy to have seen the play live (no one should be surprised Manning was watching football just an hour or two after playing football, especially since it was his brother Eli Manning on the national stage). While the Giants ended up losing the game, the three-fingered catch has still entered the sacred bar-debate territory of one of the NFL's all-time most impressive.

Manning was sure to point out the connection he and Beckham Jr. shared: they both graduated from Isidore Newman High School in New Orleans, Louisiana. The quarterback who threw the pass, Eli, did as well.
