Broncos vs. Raiders injury report: Montee Ball, Wes Welker, and Virgil Green practice Wednesday

The Denver Broncos received good news on the injury front Wednesday.

Chris Humphreys-USA TODAY Sports

Need a boost to your running game? How about getting your starting running back back at practice, not to mention your best run-blocking tight end?

Montee Ball practiced with the Broncos for the first time since leaving the Week 5 game against the Arizona Cardinals with a groin injury. Virgil Green, who missed Denver's Week 9 loss against the New England Patriots, also practiced. Both players were limited, according to coach John Fox.

Since Ball's missed time, Ronnie Hillman has filled in admirably, tallying two 100-yard games and two multiple-TD games. Fox didn't comment on whether Ball or Hillman would be the starter, if Ball could go.

Wes Welker, who suffered a back injury during Sunday's loss and did not return, practiced fully Wednesday.

Added to the injury report was right tackle Paul Cornick (shoulder), who was limited. Nate Irving (knee) missed practice.
