It's Raiders week!

I think it's fitting that the team that embraces "the dark side" more than any other is the Broncos upcoming opponent the week that most of Broncos Country feels like a ten year old who just saw The Empire Strikes Back.

Upset. Betrayed. Questioning everything that thought they knew about the world.

But luckily for us we don't have to wait three years to find out what happens next. We only have to wait until this Sunday.

If you're in the BLUE you'll get the Broncos game on CBS this Sunday. The commentators are Greg Gumbel and Trent Green.

The rest of this map is for the CBS early games. RED is Miami @ Detroit. GREEN is Pittsburgh@ NY Jets, YELLOW is Kansas City @ Buffalo, and PURPLE is Tennessee @ Baltimore.

What I'm hoping to see this Sunday from the Broncos

Consistency and toughness. Is that too much to ask?

The Broncos have only had three road games this season, against the Seattle Seahawks, NY Jets, and New England Patriots. And we all know that two of those games (Seahawks, Patriots) accounted for the Broncos only two losses. Now while a lot of people saw the Seahawks and Patriots games as potential losses even before the season began, the lackluster performance in New York opened up a nasty Broncos narrative. Are the Broncos an inferior team on the road?

This is where consistency and toughness come into play. If you're on the road you don't have as much control with your surroundings - you need to stay grounded. This Broncos team seems to get flustered on the road. They are so stacked with talent they can get away with quite a bit of confusion and still have enough success to win the game. However it would be great to see the Broncos start out strong in Oakland and never let up on the gas.

The Oakland Raiders are a winless team. They are desperate. There is nothing this team would like better than to beat the Denver Broncos.

Here's a question I am sick of hearing but I understand why it keeps getting asked. Are the Broncos a tough team or a finesse team? To put it in Star Wars terms (I just can't help myself) Oakland is our "wretched hive of scum and villainy." We've got Obi-Wan Kenobi as our quarterback and I think Demaryrius Thomas makes for a fine Han Solo - but who are we as a team? Imposing rancors or helpful tauntauns? Wookies that rip people's arms off when they get angry or crafty ewoks? All of the best preparation in the world won't help a team if they can't execute in a tough environment.

If the Broncos don't win in convincing fashion on Sunday the Chargers and the Chiefs will smell blood in the water. I for one hope that John Fox channels his inner Yoda and the Broncos dominate the Raiders this Sunday. All of a sudden it's the second half of the season. The perfect time for the Broncos to dig deep and push all of the negativity from last week into the past.

The Denver Broncos are 47-60-2 against the Oakland Raiders all-time. Kickoff is set for Sunday 2:05PM MT.

Give us your best NFL Star Wars casting in the comments. But you can't use Jar Jar Binks because I believe that's reserved for Josh McDaniels . . .
