Broncos at Chargers injury report: C.J. Anderson misses practice Wednesday

With the Denver Broncos' injury report seeming to get larger every week, coach John Fox had a simple solution: no pads. Not even helmets.

"I think we needed it," Fox said Wednesday as the Broncos installed their gameplan for Week 15 against the San Diego Chargers. "It’s a point in the season where you want guys fresh. Their health and restoration off of a long season is most important. We’re going to need to be energized, especially on the road in San Diego. We had an early bye. So [there were] a lot of reasons, but I thought their focus was great today. We had a very good practice."

Some players were put on ice Wednesday, like C.J. Anderson and Demaryius Thomas, even though they finished the game Sunday, making it clear that preservation was the priority. Their statuses will bode watching as the week continues.

As for linebacker Danny Trevathan, who can return to the field this week for the first time in two months after being placed on the Injured Reserve list with Designation to Return, Fox kept his update short and simple.

"He had a good practice today."
