Danny Trevathan to Injured Reserve; Broncos waive tight end Dominique Jones

As previously reported, Broncos linebacker Danny Trevathan's season is over.

Danny Trevathan's 2014 season will go down as one of the flukiest, injury-plagued years I can remember. A knee/shin injury in preseason, followed by a separate knee injury early in the season. Eight weeks on Injured Reserve/Designated to Return, then another separate knee injury (dislocated knee cap) that knocked him out for the year.

I know they're not technically the same injury, and I'm no doctor, but it was the same leg. The bumps and bruises and dislocations sure seem related to me. Maybe Trevathan was rushed back onto the field too soon. It's a shame; he is one of Denver's best linebackers and leading tackler from a year ago. The Broncos will miss him.

Broncos release Jones

Dominique Jones appeared in his first contest with the Broncos on Sunday against the Chargers after competing on the club's practice squad for 13 weeks. He replaced Jacob Tamme, who was a little banged up; expect him to land back on Denver's practice squad assuming he clears waivers.

The Broncos have two roster moves to make with these openings - of note, practice squadders Isaiah Burse and Kapri Bibbs were previously holding down roster spots. Let us know who you think they should call up in the comments!
