We know the six teams who have made the AFC playoffs. Exactly where they rank is still pending the results of two games Sunday.
As of 2:15 p.m. MST (before the Broncos play the Raiders and the Bengals play the Steelers) -
- New England Patriots
- Denver Broncos
- Cincinnati Bengals
- Indianapolis Colts
- Pittsburgh Steelers
- Baltimore Ravens
What could change
The winner of Steelers at Bengals will win the AFC North division; the other team is guaranteed the 5th seed.
If the Broncos lose and the Bengals win, Denver would fall to the 3rd seed, with Cincinnati earning a first-round bye.
Sorry AFC West
Both the Chargers and Chiefs had a chance to get into the playoffs. The Chargers are particularly kicking themselves - all they needed to do was beat the Chiefs, led by backup quarterback Chase Daniel. They couldn't get it done, opening the door for the Ravens to win and make the playoffs.
The Chiefs played well in their season finale but didn't get the help they needed to seal a playoff berth.
Who would the Broncos play?
Again, a lot can change in the next seven hours, but right now, the Broncos could play anyone ranked lower than them except the Ravens in the divisional round.
It'll be an AFC North playoffs. If #Broncos beat #Raiders today, they would play either the #Bengals, #Colts, or #Steelers in div'l round.
