Things are moving quickly now that the 2014 NFL free agency period is less than 24 hours away. We have news on Free Agent linebacker Wesley Woodyard, Jared Allen, T.J Ward, and more! on
The Broncos the favorite for Jared Allen:
Tonight Chris Tomasson who covers the Minnesota Vikings for the St. Paul Pioneer Press tweeted out tonight that sources close to the Jared Allen situation would "Shocked" if free agent defensive end Jared Allen did not end up with the Denver Broncos.
Source close to the situation would be "shocked" if Jared Allen doesn't end up with the Denver Broncos.
— Chris Tomasson (@christomasson) March 10, 2014
Currently the only starter the Broncos have along the defensive line is Derek Wolfe, and he has some major medical concerns surrounding him. Allen would provide the Broncos another solid pass rusher who would play opposite of Von Miller giving the Broncos a very solid pass rushing tandem.
Jared Allen said in recent radio interview "If you can play for one of the top 5 quarterbacks that makes life easier’’ I'd say Peyton top 5
— Chris Tomasson (@christomasson) March 10, 2014
Peyton is certainly a top 5 Quarterback.
Just said in a taped segment to air on @FOXSportsLive tonight: Broncos are going to make a strong push for DE Jared Allen starting tomorrow.
— Mike Garafolo (@MikeGarafolo) March 11, 2014
Several people involved in that DE market expect Jared Allen to end up in Denver and Justin Tuck to return to NYG.

Alterraun Verner "definitely" interested in Broncos
The 25-year-old cornerback said the Broncos "would definitely be a good situation for me" during an appearance on Sirius XM NFL Radio Monday. Verner is the 4th-ranked free agent in our free agency database now that Michael Bennett has signed; that's five slots ahead of Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie.
Is DRC "Likely To Re-sign with the Broncos?:
This morning Peter King wrote his weekly Monday Morning Quarterback, and in there he had this to say about the Free Agent cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie.
That’s seven quality starters, some better, on the hook. Davis is close to re-signing with Indy, according to Jason LaCanfora, and Rodgers-Cromartie is likely to return to Denver.
This is the first news about DRC that I have seen in awhile. I have yet to see Cromartie connected to any of the other 31 NFL teams, so hopefully the Broncos can lock him up here soon.
Woodyard and Phillips playing elsewhere in 2014?:
Today reports surfaced that former Broncos starting Linebacker Wesley Woodyard was drawing interest from the Dallas Cowboys.
Watkins: Cowboys interested in LB Woodyard: On the eve of the start of free agency, the Cowboys have expressed... http://t.co/PtjOHBL4D0
— espn_watkins (@espn_watkins) March 10, 2014
In Dallas Woodyard would be given the chance play at the weakside linebacker spot in a 4-3 defense where he is best suited to play. In 2012 Woodyard had his career best year when starting 15 games at the weakside linebacker spot. He totaled 117 tackles, 5.5 sacks and 3 interceptions. The Cowboys would be getting a very good player, and a even better leader.
Also DE/OLB Shaun Phillips has also been drawing some interest from other teams as well. It was reported today that the Tennessee Titans had interest in Phillips.
Aside from Arizona ILB Karlos Dansby, Ravens ILB Jameel McClain and Broncos DE/OLB Shaun Phillips also on Titans' radar
— Jim Wyatt (@jwyattsports) March 10, 2014
It's interesting that the Broncos are letting Phillips enter Free Agency when NFL Networks Ian Rapaport that the Broncos "fully expect" to re-sign Phillips, and a team source told Rapoport that Phillips is "perfect for us".
It appears that plans have changed.
Are the Broncos the favorites to land T.J Ward?:
Sign me up. RT @TomPelissero: One attuned insider's safety predictions: Byrd to #Browns, Ward to #Broncos, (W)Hitner stays with #49ers.
— MileHighReport (@MileHighReport) March 10, 2014
Sign me up for that too!
There's already been a bit of buzz surrounding the Broncos and Ward.
News on Eric Decker:
Per @AlbertBreer, Decker told friends a handful of teams are looking at him and the Colts are one of them.
— NFL: AroundTheLeague (@NFL_ATL) March 11, 2014
Colts Owner Jim Irsay isn't shy about making big moves, and adding Eric Decker to that offense would be a big move that I can see him making. Adding Decker would give Andrew Luck another solid weapon to go along with T.Y Hilton and Reggie Wayne.
This isn't the first time that Decker has been connected to Indy, so don't be surprised if he ends up in a Colts uniform in the next 24 to 48 hours.
ESPN's Bill Polian on Eric Decker: "Don't think he's gonna break the bank. I don't think there's gonna be a big market out there for him."
— Evan Silva (@evansilva) March 10, 2014
Polian also noted Eric Decker was the "fourth option" in #Broncos offense. Decker's free agent buzz has been minimal to nonexistent so far.
— Evan Silva (@evansilva) March 10, 2014
If this is the case, this does leave the door open for Decker returning to the Broncos. A very slim possibility however.
Other Free Agency updates:
Sounds like he's going to be cut. RT @RapSheet #Panthers attempting to trade WR Steve Smith. Given $7M cap number& age (34), seems unlikely.
— Evan Silva (@evansilva) March 10, 2014
Steve Smith could be a potential option for the Broncos if/when he is released.
Was among Broncos trade rumors last fall. RT @ClaytonESPN Jason Babin voided final two years of his Jags contract and is now a free agent.
— Jon Heath (@JonHeathNFL) March 10, 2014
Could the Broncos have interest in Babin again?
On Mad Dog Radio w/ @AdamSchein today, free-agent CB Alterraun Verner (@Alvern_1) said he wants a team that can "win," mentioned #Broncos.
— Jon Heath (@JonHeathNFL) March 10, 2014
Verner could be a very real option for the Broncos if they miss out on on DRC.
Steelers will release LB LaMarr Woodley at 4 ET Tuesday, designate him a post June 1 casualty, per source. He will be free to sign Tuesday.
— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) March 10, 2014
Dolphins sign Louis Delmas http://t.co/I2uzC0j7bh
— ProFootballTalk (@ProFootballTalk) March 10, 2014
Delmas has been connected to the Broncos, but it appears that they have decided to look elsewhere for help at the Safety position.
Report: Bears trying to deal Julius Peppers http://t.co/832cMkrwNQ
— ProFootballTalk (@ProFootballTalk) March 10, 2014
Peppers is due 20 million dollars this year, so no one will be trading for that contract. Look for Peppers to be released tomorrow.
CB Vontae Davis currently is expected to sign a contract on Tuesday -- but not with the Colts. Not over yet though.
— ProFootballTalk (@ProFootballTalk) March 10, 2014
Could that team be the Broncos?
49ers to cut Carlos Rogers http://t.co/v9QNEpWNQK via @JosinaAnderson

Continues to sound like LaMarr Houston's time with the Raiders is done. Plenty of outside interest in him ...
— Jason La Canfora (@JasonLaCanfora) March 11, 2014
Strong sense among many in Steelers organization that LaMarr Woodley ends up reunited with former coach Ray Horton with the Titans
— Jason La Canfora (@JasonLaCanfora) March 11, 2014
Darrelle Revis rumors:
.@Buccaneers stepping up efforts to trade CB Darrelle Revis, source tells @FOXSports1
— Alex Marvez (@alexmarvez) March 11, 2014
#Bucs are trying to sort out their options on Darrelle Revis. They’re uncomfortable paying him $16M. As @alexmarvez said, trading an option
— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) March 11, 2014
The Broncos have been connected to Darrelle Revis loosely this offseason. It will be interesting to see they have any interest in trading for Revis and his 16 million dollar cap number.
Who will trade for Darrelle Revis and his $16M salary? I’m told there is some interest. Enough to make a trade? We’ll see. Salary main issue
— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) March 11, 2014
Several teams interested in Revis believe ultimately Bucs might simply release him. That coupled with his high salary complicates trade talk
— Jason La Canfora (@JasonLaCanfora) March 11, 2014
This certainly change things.
Short of a trade in the next two days, the Buccaneers are expected to release CB Darrelle Revis by 4 p.m. Wednesday, per league sources.
— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) March 11, 2014
If Revis is indeed released, look for the Broncos to have interest.
If Revis hits the market, will be an interesting case study to see how close to $16M/yr he gets. Some GMs think $12M might be ceiling
— Jason La Canfora (@JasonLaCanfora) March 11, 2014
Don't assume that Revis will be released just yet. I can report that TB has received inquiries from multiple potential trade partners.
