Wesley Woodyard will visit Patriots before making the free agency rounds

The market is heating up for free agent Broncos linebacker Wesley Woodyard.

Doug Pensinger

Yesterday news broke that Wesley Woodyard was garnering interest from the Dallas Cowboys. Add another nationally-loved/hated team to the mix - the New England Patriots.

Woodyard has Pro Bowl potential when lining up at an outside linebacker position (check his 2012 season), but the switch to middle linebacker didn't jive with the Broncos' scheme in 2013, and he was benched. With Danny Trevathan's emergence in 2013, the Broncos don't have a position on the field that fits Woodyard's talents. Now the six-time team captain and three-time Broncos Walter Payton Man of the Year nominee will test free agency for the first time.

It appears the market is greeting him warmly, and it appears Wesley Woodyard has spent his last days in Denver.
