Report: Knowshon Moreno could still return to the Broncos

Today on ESPN Insiders, Denver Broncos head coach John Fox said that the Broncos haven't "closed the door" on re-signing free agent running back Knowshon Moreno, and are definitely interested in bringing him back to Denver.

The keyword in this tweet is "if price is right". The market for Moreno hasn't been great, so his asking price could be coming down. Moreno's only visit has been to the Miami Dolphins, but it was reported that he left without a contract.

Some rumors have been spreading around twitter that the New England Patriots are very interested in Moreno, and that it might come down to either Blount or Moreno.

I haven't seen any other reports connecting Moreno to the Patriots, so I would wait and see on that one. However he's a reliable Patriot reporter, so I am not discounting the tweet. Just something to keep an eye on.

Knowshon Moreno's has said back before the Super Bowl that his preference is to stay in Denver, and play with Peyton Manning.

"We'll see what happens in the offseason and hopefully I'm still here with this team," Moreno said. He finished his most productive season since being drafted by Denver in 2009 by rushing for 1,038 yards and 10 touchdowns. "I'm still part of the Broncos and that's all good right now. We'll see what happens with the rest."

It's apparent that teams do not view Moreno as a starting caliber running back, so that and his said preference to stay with the Broncos could bring him back to the Denver.

John Elway had something to say about Knowshon Moreno. Elway appeared on Pro Football Talk today, and had some interesting things to say on Moreno.

So if Moreno's asking price comes down, sounds like the Broncos decision makers would welcome back Moreno.
