Peyton Manning has been cleared to play.

Manning's neck examination Monday cleared the reigning League MVP to play in 2014, the Denver Post reports. Manning, who will turn 38 later this month, broke NFL records by throwing for 55 touchdowns and over 5,400 yards in the 2013 regular season. Given that he was shattering records and playing in the Super Bowl a month ago, there was little doubt he would be cleared to continue to play football.

But it's a relief nonetheless.

The Post also notes that this medical development clears the way for Manning's 2014 salary - a $17.5 million figure, according to overthecap.com - to become fully guaranteed.
