The New York Giants have announced their signing of defensive end Robert Ayers. FOX Sports reports it's a two-year deal for the former Bronco.

Ayers, one of the Broncos' 2009 first round draft picks, spent five years with the Broncos, mostly in backup work. 2013 was his best season, but it wasn't enough for the Broncos to overlook his previous seasons and pay him the money he was looking for. Instead, the Broncos aggressively added DeMarcus Ware in free agency.

Below is our story on Ayers' visit, first published Monday evening.

Ayers visits with Giants

It was reported earlier that former Denver Broncos cornerback Champ Bailey will be visiting the New Orleans Saints. Now comes news of another former Bronco generating interest from another club. According to Pro Football Talk the New York Giants hosted former Denver Broncos Defensive End Robert Ayers.

This is Ayers second known visit. He reportedly had a visit with the Cincinnati Bengals earlier in the Free Agency period.

Robert Ayers, a former first round pick is coming off a season where he notched a career best in sacks(5.5) for the Broncos in 2013. He played in 15 games for the Broncos, starting three of them.

The Giants have lost some depth along the defensive line, and could look at Robert Ayers for some depth. If Ayers does indeed sign with the New York Giants he'll be joining former teammates Cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, Center J.D Walton and Kick Returner Trindon Holliday in New York.

Go Broncos!
