Denver Broncos 2014 schedule release expected in April

The Denver Broncos' 2014 schedule is set to be released sometime in April.

As far as offseason holidays go, there's the first day of free agency (the Broncos did pretty good there), the NFL Draft, the opening of training camp... and schedule release day.

Yup, the annual release of the NFL schedule ranks as an offseason holiday, right up there with the moves and acquisitions teams make to, you know, actually shape their respective teams for years to come.

I'm not sure why I get so excited over schedule release day, but I do. And you probably do too, because you're reading this post, and you're ready to talk about which games you want to see first for the Broncos, and how tough their schedule is going to be, and how many prime time games they deserve.

Well we have some news as to the timing of this holiday. Despite the draft being pushed back to May this year, the NFL schedule release is still expected by mid-April, NFL spokesperson Greg Aiello tells ProFootballTalk. Given that the schedule release usually happens on a Tuesday, PFT pegs April 15th and April 22nd as the most likely days we can expect to be told the order of the Broncos' games in 2014.

In the meantime, we do know Denver's 2014 opponents. There are a number of good games for the Broncos in 2014, as the AFC West and AFC East are set to play one another. The Broncos will enjoy a rematch against every team they faced in the 2013-14 playoffs - the Chargers, Patriots, and Seahawks. They will also play every team that beat them in 2013 - the Chargers, Patriots, Colts, and of course, the Seahawks in the Super Bowl.

2014 is a year-long Broncos Revenge Tour.
