SCHEDULE RELEASE WEDNESDAY
We've known who and where the Denver Broncos are going to play since the conclusion of last year's regular season.
Home: Kansas City Chiefs, Oakland Raiders, San Diego Chargers, Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, Indianapolis Colts, Arizona Cardinals, San Francisco 49ers
Away: Kansas City Chiefs, Oakland Raiders, San Diego Chargers, New England Patriots, New York Jets, Cincinnati Bengals, St. Louis Rams, Seattle Seahawks
Today we finally get to find out the when. When will we have our rematch with the Seattle Seahawks? When next will we see Tom Brady bury his face in his hands? When will Denver make Oakland's most ardent fans cry off their mascara/face paint/prison tattoos? We'll find out on ESPN 2 from 8-10pm EST.*
*Of course leaks will be trickling out all day. Keep a browser tab parked here to Mile High Report for up-to-the-minute updates.
QUARTET OF SIGNINGS
Mitch Unrein signed his free agent tender and will continue get everyone's hopes up in 2014 by reporting eligible in goal line situations. Tony Carter, Duke Ihenacho, and Brandon Marshall (the one who has never been stabbed) also re-signed with the Broncos. Here's the info from DenverBroncos.com
SPEAKING OF MITCH
The fan-favorite defensive tackle opened up to Denver's CBS affiliate about DeMarcus Ware's arrival.
"It's going to wreak havoc to say the least because a lot of offenses try to double team Von Miller. Now they're going to only be able to double team one guy, so they are going to have to pick and choose who they double team each and every week. And we're going to get a lot of pressure on the quarterback, and that's going to free us up inside as well."
It's pretty awesome that he's as excited as we are, but that's one of many reasons why we love Mitch.
MOSLEY ON OVER
Linebacker C.J. Mosley was in Denver visiting the Broncos. Although he figures to be a top fifteen pick in the 2014 draft, the Butkus Award winner may be a target should Denver be able to maneuver high enough to get him. Speculation? Smokescreen? Unfortunately, we still have to wait two more weeks to find out. Check out Andrew Mason's breakdown of the Linebacker position on DenverBroncos.com and you decide.
HARRIS HOT OVER COMMENT
Apparently New York Giants (formerly of Seattle) CB Walter Thurmond thinks he's hes the best slot corner in the league. Broncos CB Chris Harris took exception to that. Denver legend Champ Bailey let his feelings on Harris' play be known, and let's just say that Thurmond may be more than a little full of himself. Easy pardner, you're in New York now.
MEL, MAYOCK, MCSHAY
Even though the draft is still two weeks away, our favorite prognosticators are already hyperventilating over who is and who isn't going to make it in the NFL. For all the bloviating rhetoric before the draft, rarely are any of these supposed experts held accountable for their colossal whiffs... until now. Awful Announcing put together a list of the top ten biggest oopsies these folks have made.
Here's a preview of the number one whoops.
