2014 NFL Draft: Will the Broncos select a quarterback on Day 3?

Rumors have emerged surrounding the Denver Broncos entering Day 3 of the NFL Draft, including a reported interest in selecting a quarterback—gasp!—yes, quarterback on Day 3.

Troy Babbitt-USA TODAY Sports

Entering the 2014 NFL DraftNFL.com listed Denver's four needs as cornerback, wide receiver, offensive line, and linebacker. Denver addressed the first three positions through the first three rounds and addressed the final position of need—linebacker—on Day 3, selecting LSU's Lamin Barrow in the fifth round.

Though Denver had a need at the MLB position, Barrow projects as an outside linebacker. It remains to be seen where the Broncos plan on using Barrow on defense.

Meanwhile, another position Denver may address today, surprisingly, is quarterback.

Schefter said on ESPN earlier today that Denver is considering drafting a QB, which causes one to wonder what the team plans to do with Brock Osweiler? Earlier this offseason, reports emerged that three different teams had inquired about trading for Osweiler, so there would presumably be a market for Osweiler should the team choose to trade him.

All of that, of course, is assuming Denver actually does draft a QB. Hasn't happened yet, but keep your eyes open.

Options at quarterback for the Broncos include Wyoming quarterback Brett Smith and Alabama A.J. McCarron.

Stay tuned as we continue to follow Day 3 of the NFL Draft!
