"Seriously, there is no pressure here at all," Manning said to a throng of laughter as he prepared to throw a pass to a UVA grad. "If you drop it, it will not be on YouTube, I promise you."
Peyton Manning was the keynote speaker at the University of Virginia's Valedictory Exercises in 2014, and as usual, his speech was memorable. Manning's wife is an alumnus at UVA, Class of 1997.
Among several career-advice quotes I liked was this gem from Peyton: "When you're chided for your naivety - and you will be - remind your critics that an amateur built the Ark; professionals built the Titanic."
Also these nuggets: "The challenge will be to learn how to stand out and fit in at the same time." And, "Plan A is never enough when your competition wants to win as bad as you do."
