A look at those who mock well
My personal preference heading into the first round is obviously centered around a few key positions on defense. Namely, the inside linebacker position and outside at cornerback. There have been rumors that John Elway and the Denver Broncos may be looking to move up in this years' NFL Draft tonight. That could be exciting!
This mock draft database is centered around a collection of top mock drafters based on The Huddle Report's ranking system. Let's see where the final count winds up.

Mock Draft Positions Review
1. Cornerback
The tide is turning with the "sharps" and cornerback is pretty much even with the linebacker as the Denver Broncos most important positional needs. Fortunately, the 2014 NFL Draft looks fairly stacked at the cornerback position, so John Elway will have his pick of the litter so to speak at #31.
Standing atop my wishlist at the cornerback position is Bradley Roby out of Ohio State. The guy plays like the infamous cornerbacks playing up in Seattle and this is a copycat league after all. I'd really love to see a rematch with the Seahawks with a fully healthy roster. Only a few more months, people!
2. Linebacker
Ryan Shazier remains in the running as the favorite to end up being a Bronco, but that just tells me he is the least likely guy on the board to actually become a Bronco tonight. With Elway looking to trade up, he definitely has a specific player in mind and I'm wondering if that guy is one C.J. Mosley. That would make me very happy.
The inside linebacker position has bee a glaring hole in Denver since Al Wilson's career was cut short with a neck injury in 2006, so it would be nice to have a dynamic athlete spearheading the defense in the middle.
3. Offensive Guard
Seriously, do these guys not know that Orlando Franklin is being moved inside? Given that fact, why on Earth would Elway draft Su'a-Filo? To replace Franklin? To Replace all-pro Louis Vasquez? Come on, do your freaking research guys!
The only way this makes sense is if Elway told Franklin of the position switch just to throw off the entire NFL, so he could then sit quietly and wait for Su'a-Filo to fall right into his lap at #31. That's plausible.
4. Defensive Tackle/Defensive End
I do not think defensive tackle is high on the board for Elway and company, but defensive end could be a possibility. My biggest concern there is that it just doesn't follow the mentality that this team is just one or two players away from being the best team in football. Drafting a backup defensive end or tackle in the first round makes absolutely no sense from a championship sense.
That is why I highly doubt those picks as well. I think it comes down to linebacker or cornerback. The x-factor position isn't even listed here and that would the quarterback position. We should never underestimate the premium John Elway has on that position and if there is any doubt in Brock Osweiler at this point, we could see a quarterback in the first round.
