Horse Tracks: Best Broncos plays of 2013

New, comments

Good Morning Broncos Country!

I'm going to start a series here detailing the top plays of 2013 putting together my knowledge of X's and O's along with my newly developed skill of creating gifs.

I'd like for the community to nominate some of their favorite plays from the prior year. Capisce?

Derek Wolfe

Much has been made about the weight gain of Derek Wolfe this offseason.  Some of that has come from the man himself when he declared that he would be playing inside much more than in the past.

To be honest though, unless we're talking about Wolfe getting into the 310-315 range, don't expect his role to change very much.  Wolfe at 300-305 is still at prime weight to man the closed end spot in our base defense.

He may be in a rotation more with Malik Jackson and perhaps this is where some of the sentiment comes from, but to think that he would be taking over significant snaps from Sylvester Williams or Kevin Vickerson inside on base downs does not make a lot of sense to me.

Of course when the Broncos move to their nickel package, you will see him more inside.  But if you've been following the team the past couple of seasons you know that is the status quo.
