Broncos tight end Joel Dreessen was released Tuesday, and it was one of those age-old NFL stories of "Good guy, bad knee." The Broncos wanted it to work with Dreessen, and Dreessen wanted his to knee to work with the Broncos, but it just wasn't a 'go' after three knee surgeries in less than a year and a half.
The ever-classy Dreessen, a former CSU star, left a few details and thanked the Broncos for his two years in Denver, calling them a "first class organization." Dreessen also thanked the media and fans. Those tweets are below.
Thank u to everyone for all of the twitter support. Unfortunately my knee just refuses to cooperate at this time.

Was such a blessing to come home and be a bronco the past 2 seasons. Everyone was so kind to me, especially the fans and media.

While disappointed I won't be a part of the 2014 broncos, I am looking forward to watching them. It's going to be a special season.
