Cornerback Chris Harris to start Training Camp on PUP

John Fox announced that the Denver Broncos have placed cornerback Chris Harris on the PUP list.

Chris Humphreys-USA TODAY Sports

It was announced today that Denver Broncos cornerback Chris Harris will start Training Camp on Physically Unable To Play List. Harris will be eligible to come off the list whenever he's healthy enough to participate in Training Camp practices. Harris is still recovering from an ACL injury he suffered during the playoff game against the San Diego Chargers.

According to ESPN's Jeff Legwold, Harris is scheduled to meet with Doctor James Andrews at the end of the week. There's no real timetable for when he'll be activated off the PUP list, but it still does sound like he's aiming to be ready for the season opener game against the Colts. Coach John Fox said in his press conference that he has not seen any player work harder then Chris Harris in his rehab.

Absent from the PUP list is Linebacker Von Miller and Defensive Tackle Kevin Vickerson. Both players It's been reported that Miller won't have any contact until the third preseason game at the earliest. Von will be able to participate in individual drills, as well as 7 on 7 team work. The team is going to be careful with their All-Pro pass rusher.

Kevin Vickerson also passed his physical, and will participate in individual work mostly early on. Vickerson is recovering from a hip injury.

With Chris Harris missing some time it appears that rookie cornerback Bradley Roby will be thrusted into some first team action early on in camp. Also look for second year player Kayvon Webster to get some first team reps as well. As for the linebackers, I think we'll see second year player Lerentee McCray and CFA Shaq Barrett to receive some action in Von Millers absence. As for the Defensive Tackle spot, second year player Sylvester Williams has an opportunity to secure a starting spot next to Terrance "Pot Roast" Knighton. Look for Mitch Unrein and Marvin Austin to compete as well.

Football is back Broncos Country!

Go Broncos!!!
