Broncos appreciate fans at stadium practice

Broncos coach John Fox, receiver Cody Latimer, tight end Jacob Tamme and more talked about what it meant to practice in front of fans for the first time this offseason on Sunday.

Casey Barrett, Mile High Report

21,933 fans attended the Broncos' stadium practice on Sunday, the first chance fans have gotten to see the 2014 Denver Broncos. Due to construction at Dove Valley (Broncos HQ), practices at that facility are closed to the public.

Coach Fox and the players clearly missed the fans, and here's what they had to say about the energy the crowd provides.

Head Coach John Fox

"Oh yeah. Our guys were really excited about it. They do miss the fans on a daily base there at Dove Valley. I know they appreciated it and enjoyed it."

Running back Kapri Bibbs

"If they start screaming at the beginning, you can barely hear already. I can only imagine what it's going to be like when the whole crowd gets going." Kapri Bibbs

"If they start screaming at the beginning, you can barely hear already. I can only imagine what it's going to be like when the whole crowd gets going."

Wide receiver Cody Latimer

"To have everybody cheering your name and have people screaming your name, it's an amazing feeling. We have some true fans out here. I wish we could have this every day, but we [have to] take advantage of the time. It makes practice a little nicer when the crowd cheers for a catch. It doesn't feel like practice; it was like we were playing a real game. It's just an amazing feeling to be out here."

Safety Rahim Moore

"It feels good. At the beginning I got a little teary eyed; I missed the stadium. It's kind of like a dream come true. I feel like it's my first time out here. I think team-wise we did a great job out here today and I'm excited for the future for us."

Wide receiver Nathan Palmer

"At the beginning I got a little teary eyed; I missed the stadium. It's kind of like a dream come true." Rahim Moore

"It makes you want to get out here and get in that end zone and hear the crowd cheer for you. Maybe even do a little dance or something for them. It was great just to get out here in front of the fans."

Wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders

"I'm so appreciative of all the fans who came out today, it was such a great atmosphere."

Tight end Jacob Tamme

"This is the time where it gets fun. We're getting to our full team periods, full pads, and obviously when you get into the red zone it gets pretty exciting. It's neat for the fans and it is good work for us."

Defensive tackle Kevin Vickerson

"It makes it easier. Training camp goes by a little smoother with the fans being involved, so it's always a pleasure to have them around cheering us on. We're just trying to give them what they see and that's some Bronco football."
