An early Broncos depth chart projection, one week into training camp

One week into training camp, let's break down the Broncos' 2014 roster.

Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

I cannot emphasize enough how early this depth chart projection is. So much can change between now and August 26th, when the Broncos have to cut their 90-man roster down to 75 players, and August 30th, when their final 53 are due. There are four preseason games during that time, which hold as much weight as all of training camp's practices, and we're barely one-third through those practices.

All that being said, there is value in training camp practice. There's value in seeing players perform with my own two eyes, which is why I make the 1400-mile round trip trek each year. And with John Fox, we know from years past that he puts a lot of weight on training camp success - more than he puts on what round you were drafted or how big your free agent contract is. "It's not how you start the race, it's how you finish it," as John Fox would say.

These 53 men (plus eight practice squadders) are winning the race, one week into training camp. We'll check back regularly with updated projections, including after the Broncos' first preseason game next week!
