Denver Broncos and Seattle Seahawks to meet in the first week of preseason - Horse Tracks

But will the outcome be any different?

Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

With the Denver Broncos and Seattle Seahawks completing their six month long back-to-back double-header on Thursday night, will the outcome be any different than the Super Bowl? Or last preseason for that matter? The fact is, counting last years' preseason game, the Seahawks have outscored the Broncos 83-18 in those two contests. Disgusting.

Honestly, I don't care that its preseason, but I hope John Fox and Peyton Manning do. I want them to play like its the Super Bowl, but I hope they play like its just another preseason game. Save the good stuff for Week 3 and ignore the angst from us fans who want blood - any blood, even if its fake preseason blood.

Even so, it would be nice to silence the trolls a bit.

In any case, it will be nice to have a real live open game thread for the first time since February here on Mile High Report. That alone is cause for celebration.

Bookmark this video though, just in case the previous two games represent a trend of continued embarrassment. John Elway knew how to handle the Seachickens, so if it comes to it, we can always relive those glory days. Uhg, I wonder if this is how a typical Raider fan feels around Week 4 of the regular season...

Oh and if that video isn't enough to make you love Elway (looking at you Bronco Mike) then there is also this.

  • Given how injury riddled the defense was in 2013, Mike Klis was right to say that the defense can only get better this year. I think it should be obvious to everyone that this defense is, indeed, already better than the one fielded at the end of last season.
  • Andrew Mason gave his five thoughts on yesterday's practice, but none of which seemed to specifically pertain to yesterday's practice.
  • In case you missed it, Montee Ball is out 2-4 weeks after emergency Appendectomy surgery. John Elway and John Fox both give their feedback on Ball being out and what it means to the Broncos depth chart.
  • It's fantasy football season and here is an interesting tool for you newbies out there. Have a computer run a fantasy draft simulation for you. It was fun to play around with this tool.  They wanted me to pick Jamaal Charles 4th overall. lol, umm, no.  Peyton Manning, come on down!!!
