Broncos Chiefs injury report: Broncos looking healthy, Bruton listed as questionable

The Denver Broncos are looking healthy going into Week 2's game with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

Friday's practice is over and the Denver Broncos are almost at full strength injury wise. Which isn't good news for the Kansas City Chiefs (who don't have much to be excited about this week anyway).

Special Teams ace David Bruton is listed as "Questionable" for Sunday's game. Bruton is recovering from a dislocated shoulder injury from last Sunday's game against the Colts. Garland was able to practice today for the first time this week (great sign) and is listed as "Doubtful" for Sunday's game.

Missing from this week's injury report:

Louis Vasquez (BACK), Terrance Knighton (KNEE), Emmanuel Sanders (THIGH), and Isaiah Burse & Malik Jackson who missed a few practices for non-football related injuries last week. It's great to see all of these players off the injury report. I was especially glad to see Vasquez's back injury not reappear. Lingering back issues are not something I want any of our players to deal with this season.

New to the injury report this week:

David Bruton, Ryan Clady, Nate Irving, Manny Ramirez, and DeMarcus Ware. Only Bruton's shoulder dislocation (ouch!) kept him from being a full participant in practices on Wednesday and Thursday. Seeing Irving as a full participant in practice is very encouraging. I definitely thought it might be a more serious injury during the Colts game.

Repeats on the injury report:

Ben Garland, Kayvon Webster, Chris Harris Jr., and of course Danny Trevathan.

According to Nate Irving, Trevathan is not just sitting around playing cards while he's recovering from his fractured shin injury.

Chris Harris Jr had good things to say about his feelings after playing his first post-ACL injury game:

"I feel great. It just gave me even more confidence going into this week knowing I still have the abilities to play my game. I'm just going to get better each week as my knee continues to build stamina and get stronger. I just look forward to improving each week."

It should be interesting to see who ends up on the Broncos inactive list for this game. Last week it was surprising to see Kayvon Webster and Ronnie Hillman listed as inactives. I was also surprised to see Mitch Unrein inactive, but Wesbter and Hillman definitely appear to be out of favor with the coaching staff. All we can do is speculate about the reasons as the Broncos are being, um, vague. One thing that's not vague about the situation is that it's Coach Fox's decision who ends up on the inactive list. When asked about Webster and Hillman this week both Jack Del Rio and Adam Gase said it was up to Fox to decide who would play on Sunday. No other reasons were given for Webster and Hillman not being able to play on Sunday.

Meanwhile, for the Chiefs, G/T Jeff Allen will undergo elbow surgery and is likely out for the season. The Chiefs lost three starters for the season in Week 1 in Allen, Derrick Johnson, and Mike DeVito.
