MHR Review: Gameday Inactives 7 Questions First Look Game Preview Enemy Questions

The Denver Broncos started the season 1-0 and looked like they were going to be dominating in that win, until the offense choked it big time and the defense needed to rally to help secure the win. Against the Kansas City Chiefs, this team could probably get away with a performance like that on most occasions, but against playoff teams like the Indianapolis Colts and Seattle Seahawks it will end up biting them in the rear ends more often than not!

The Chiefs on the other hand, stunk it up at home in the worst way by getting obliterated by a non-playoff team in the Tennessee Titans. It was so bad that even I - an avowed hater of the Chiefs - was surprised by the effort. The seventeen million dollar man, Alex Smith, checked his way down to an opening season blowout and I doubt even Andy Reid knows what to do now.

I expect this game to be an easy win and blowout for Peyton Manning and the Broncos, while I also expect the pass rushing defense to feast on Smith's soul as they were getting very close to Andrew Luck on multiple occasions and a less elite quarterback crumbles under that kind of pressure. So crumble Alex Smith must.

Prediction: Broncos 37, Chiefs 9.

Late Game Predictions

As I did last week, I'll continue putting up my predictions each week on these game threads as I think its fun and I get to insult teams along the way. The most fun though is when I pick a team that gets annihilated and I have no answer as to why I was so stupid to pick them to win. What can I say, its fun to make fun of oneself! One with the predictions...

Seattle Seahawks at San Diego Chargers

Never have I wanted to pick an underdog than I do with this one. 95% of Yahoo users are pounding the Seahawks like its automatic, but being an AFC West fan, I know how well the Chargers play at home and Philip Rivers does have a history of upsetting powerhouse teams down there in San Diego. However, going against the grain while firmly in second place in my league is just a stupid thing to do, so I'll go with the Seahawks even though my gut is screaming Chargers. Prediction: Seahawks 20, Chargers 17.

St. Louis Rams at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

I correctly picked against the Rams last week against the Minnesota Vikings, but they were so bad that not only did I have drop them five spots in my power rankings last week, I also think they'll lose again this week. They were that bad. The Buccaneers were looking pretty terrible too against the Carolina Panthers, but they somehow pulled it together late to close the game and at least make the score respectable when it was all said and done. This one is a crapshoot though and I would not be surprised if it went either way, so given that, I will go with the home team here. Prediction: Buccaneers 17 Rams 10.

New York Jets at Green Bay Packers

Good thing the Jets got a win last week, because they are going to be humiliated this week. Aaron Rodgers and the Packers are going to be looking to get the bad taste from their mouths after being embarrassed on opening day against the defending Super Bowl Champions. I also think the Jets are a terrible football team, so this one was easy for me to pick and it should be for you as well. Prediction: Packers 34, Jets 10.

Houston Texans at Oakland Raiders

Poor Derek Carr and the Raiders. I think Carr is going to be a legit quarterback in the NFL, but given how he struggled against a Jets defense that isn't really all that good, he is going to be roughed up pretty bad this afternoon by a decidedly good Texans defense. With J.J. Watt leading the way, the Texans offense only has to score a touchdown or two and this team comes away with a 2-0 record to start the season. Prediction: Texans 17, Raiders 13.
