Denver Broncos wide receiver Wes Welker returned to the practice field Wednesday, fully cleared through the NFL's concussion protocol and cleared of his suspension that originally stemmed from an offseason violation of the NFL's PED policy.
"It feels great," Welker said after practice. "Being out there with your teammates and everything else, you really realize how much you miss it when you're not able to come here and go to work and be in meetings and hang around the guys and go out there and play something you love. So it was great to be out here."

Welker was a full participant in practice Wednesday, his first full practice session since mid-August.
"I felt good," said Welker. "I'm just going out and working hard and preparing like I'm going to play (Sunday). At the end of the day, that's (the coaches') decision."
Said Peyton Manning, "It'll certainly be great to have him out there Sunday, if that's the plan."
The Broncos haven't formally announced whether Welker will play, but coach John Fox noted that he's not a doctor, and Welker has been cleared to play. It certainly sounds like Welker will suit up Sunday vs. the Seahawks.
Finally of note, Welker relented that his two-game suspension might have been a blessing in disguise, giving him an extra respite from football to heal.
"You always hate to miss any time at all, but especially with head injuries and different things like that, every week and every day is a good thing for it," Welker said.
