How hot is the hot seat upon which Oakland Raiders coach Dennis Allen is sitting?
Try scalding.
A tweet on Sunday night from an AP reporter claimed that Allen had been fired, and that the team would announce it as soon as Tuesday. This came less than a week after CBS' Jason La Canfora reported Allen could be fired if the Raiders laid an egg for the fourth week in a row.
The Raiders lost to the Dolphins 38-14 in London Sunday.
Interestingly, 45 minutes later, the tweet was deleted. The reporter, Terry Collins, posted this apology.
Please disregard my recent tweet about the Raiders. These rumors haven't been confirmed by the AP. I'm sorry.

Still, in his own non-deleted words, there are "rumors." And they certainly appear to have come from Raiders sources.
As they say, where there's smoke, there's fire.
Allen has been the Raiders head coach since 2012, when he left the Denver Broncos as defensive coordinator. He's posted an 8-28 record with Oakland. Raiders fans, including former Bronco Bill Romanowski (ugh), have called for Allen's head.
How hot is the hot seat upon which Oakland Raiders coach Dennis Allen is sitting? It just got measurably hotter.
