Weather wasn't expected to be a factor as the Denver Broncos face the Indianapolis Colts in the playoffs this week, but as the old saying goes, "If you don't like the weather in (Denver), wait five minutes."
Hours before kickoff, the tarp is on Sports Authority Field at Mile High, as it's "colder than expected" and there is a chance of rain or snow into the second half.
Well hello Sports Authority Field. It's colder than expected. Chance of rain/snow in 2nd half. Maybe sooner. Tarp on pic.twitter.com/WWjJH8bSy0— Troy Renck (@TroyRenck) January 11, 2015
According to weather.com, it's expected to be a mild 42 degrees at gametime, cloudy, with a chance of snow in the evening.
Still, there's no need to panic about weather. The Broncos should lean on their running game against the Colts, plus, reports of Peyton Manning's struggles in the cold are largely a myth.
This is playoff football. The Broncos (wisely) practiced in the elements this week. If they want a shot at beating the New England Patriots in Foxboro next week, a "warm"-up to cold weather wouldn't be bad at all.
