Denver Broncos General Manager John Elway held the teams season ending press conference today to discuss the "mutual parting" with former Head Coach John Fox after four seasons with the team. Elway said he would conduct a search with a lot of strong candidates, and that Peyton Manning would be apart of the coaching search.
John Elway: Both Adam Gase and Jack Del Rio are candidates for #Broncos head coach job.

When asked specifically about Gase and Del Rio Elway stated that both are candidates for the teams head coaching vacancy.
Yeah, they are candidates, as far as the coaches, I know there was some misinformation out there. The coaches have not been released. They are still under contract to the Broncos. I did give them the ability to talk to different people, but they have not all been released.
Elway confirmed that the team did not fire all the assistant coaches, and that they are still under contract with the team. He just informed them that they can start looking for other jobs if they wanted too.
Also while Elway did say that Gase and Del Rio are candidates for the teams Head Coaching vacancy he stopped short from saying that they would get interviewed.
They are both candidates, I’m not talking about interviewing anybody. We’ve talking about candidates and whether they get interviewed or not, I’m not going to get into that right now.
Both Gase and Del Rio are currently considered favorites for other head coaching vacancies, and are having their interviews sometime today. The 49ers General Manager Trent Baalke is in Denver today to conduct a second interview with Gase while Del Rio is scheduled to meet with the Raiders today for his second interview as well.
There's a good chance that both of these guys will be announced as the Head Coaches of those teams in the next few days, and the Broncos will not have a chance to have a formal interview with them.
