Denver Broncos offensive coordinator Adam Gase will get the first crack to speak to John Elway in an official capacity to become the next Broncos head coach, Mike Klis of the Denver Post first reported. The Broncos went ahead and confirmed that Gase is, in fact, interviewing right now.

It's been a whirlwind couple of weeks for Gase. He first interviewed with four teams for head coach openings during the Broncos' bye week - Chicago, Buffalo, Atlanta, and San Francisco. He had a marathon 2nd interview with the 49ers and was reportedly close to agreeing on a deal, but the Niners ended up going internal by hiring Jim Tomsula on Tuesday. Now, with his stock having seemingly fallen, teams are interested in him as offensive coordinator - the Jaguars, Rams, Falcons, and Raiders are reported to have interest in Gase in that capacity.
Gase has been on the Broncos' coaching staff for six seasons, the last two serving as offensive coordinator. He'e said to be very close to quarterback Peyton Manning, with some reports suggesting Manning's return could hinge on Gase's.
