According to Foxsports' Alex Marvez, the Cincinnati Bengals will not allow Defensive Backs coach Vance Joseph to leave his contract, and join the Denver Broncos as their Defensive Coordinator
Source tells @NFLonFOX that @Bengals will NOT be allowing DBs coach Vance Joseph to leave contract. Was linked to @Broncos DC job.

According to Marvez Bengals owner Mike Brown and Joseph are currently in Mobile Alabama scouting prospects at the Senior Bowl. Foxsports reported earlier today that Brown and Joseph would talk before making the decision.
Joseph interviewed for the Broncos Head Coaching job late last week and was considered the favorite to be Gary Kubiak's Defensive Coordinator. However, the Bengals have blocked that promotion and now the Broncos will have to look elsewhere for their Defensive Coordinator options.
How do you block a dude's promotion to DC? That is so Bengals of the Bengals.

A few names being connected to the Broncos Defensive Coordinator job are current Linebackers Coach Richard Smith who served as a Defensive Coordinator for the Houston Texans under Gary Kubiak, but was eventually fired, and Wade Phillips who also was a Defensive Coordinator under Kubiak in Houston. Phillips did have some success with the Texans and would seem like the better hire of the two.
Another name that is out there is former Buffalo Bills Defensive Coordinator Jim Schwartz. He coached the Bills defense to be one of the league's best this past season, but was let go after the team hired Rex Ryan as their Head Coach. While he's a favorite amongst the fans to be the Broncos new Defensive Coordinator he has yet to be officially connected to the Broncos.
This is a very lame move by the Cincinnati Bengals by, not allowing one of their coaches to get a promotion, and potentially doubling their current salary. There were some reports earlier in the day that the Bengals have let Joseph out of his contract, but it appears those reports were false.
It will be interesting to see how this all plays out now.
