The Denver Broncos come into this game with some optimism on the offensive line for a change, facing an Oakland Raiders defense that is getting torched every which way on Sunday's. No divisional game is a gimmie, but the Broncos certainly have a good chance of making it eight in a row against the Raiders today.
Derek Carr and the Raiders offense are as pass happy as Jay Cutler and the Broncos were back in the day and backed up by a pass defense that is equally atrocious. This tells me that the Raiders can hang with anyone offensively, but will lose a lot of games due to that defense. Carr is also facing the toughest defense in the league, so I think that might be too much for the young quarterback over the course of 60 minutes.
As for Peyton Manning and the Broncos, they need to establish the run for the second week in a row. Doing so will open up the passing lanes quite nicely, because this defense has no idea how to stop an aerial assault. If the Broncos struggle to score against this team, we're in for a long, long season. My gut tells me they won't.
Prediction: Broncos 37, Raiders 13.
