Horse Tracks: Gary Kubiak says that receiver Cody Latimer has not been a disappointment for him

Good Morning Broncos Country!

Ken Blaze-USA TODAY Sports

Denver Broncos Head Coach Gary Kubiak spoke to media after Friday's practice and was asked about second-year wide receiver Cody Latimer. He was asked if Latimer has been a disappointment this season, Kubiak said he has not.

Kubiak goes on to say that he expects good things to happen to Latimer before the season ends.

"He has not been a disappointment with me. I've been with him now for eight weeks. I think it's a matter of time before something good happens for Cody. He's played well when he's had his opportunities to play. The ball just hasn't come his way. I think when those things happen, they happen in bunches. Cody is working to be a good pro and that's all you can ask as a coach. He's ready to go this week. I think that good things are going to happen for this young man before this year's out."

Is this just positive coach speak from Kubiak? Or is it a good sign for the Broncos receiver?

Heading into the season many expected Latimer to step up as the Broncos third receiver, but so far he has been passed by multiple other players. Names like Jordan Norwood, Andre Caldwell, and Bennie Fowler all have received snaps ahead of Latimer so far this season.

With receiver Emmanuel Sanders banged up and a game time decision for Sunday's game, Latimer has another possible opportunity to make an impact for the Broncos.
