The perfect lineup in standard scoring in week 9 would have looked like this:
Aaron Rodgers (32 standard league points)*, DeAngelo Williams (36)*, Lamar Miller (25), Antonio Brown (28)*, Cole Beasley (23), Michael Crabtree (22)*, Delanie Walker (23), Giants D/ST (11), Josh Brown (17)
Those asterisks next to the (scores) are players that this column recommended as plays last week. So, hopefully you got those extra 118 points in your lineup. Also, hopefully you held on to Michael Crabtree.
I got back on the wagon with my shiesty recommendation of Marcus Mariota (32), who finished as the fourth highest overall scoring player in fantasy football last week. That makes me 6 of 7 on the season for recommendations to you that hopefully were the difference in you winning or losing last week.
My sleepers for you last week:
Peyton Manning (15), Tyrod Taylor (15), Blake Bortles (20), Kirk Cousins (10), Marcus Mariota (32), James Starks (17), Charles Sims (5), Shane Vereen (9), Ryan Mathews (12), CJ Spiller (0), Brandin Cooks (13), Tavon Austin (7), Willie Snead (9), Travis Benjamin (2), Stevie Johnson (6), Martavis Bryant (9), Sammy Watkins (22), Rueben Randle (10), Dorial Green-Beckham (7), Jordan Reed (7), Charles Clay (0), Austin Seferian-Jenkins (DNP), Heath Miller (3), Julius Thomas (1), Coby Fleener (2), Robbie Gould (0), Atlanta Falcons (5)
You got a major assist if you started Marcus Mariota, James Starks or Sammy Watkins last week (to the tune of 71 points). I got some grief in the comments last week for including my scores in comparison to what you would have got based off of ESPN's waiver wire recommendations.
I won't do that anymore, but I will let you know that I am undefeated against ESPN's waiver wire with my recommendations.
I have no idea what I am doing...

This week (week 10): Philadelphia Eagles
Both my defense and my kicker are 'insanes' this week by the way. However, they have great match-ups.
Get called shiesty this Monday and Tuesday:
My shiesty pick of Marcus Mariota last week was a boomer and got me back on track with only one bad shiesty pick this season for you. I gave you a bonus of Robert Woods, because I am a generous guy and he got you a giant goose egg in standard scoring, but hold on to him and stay shiesty. Sammy Watkins is already limping in practice! There is only one other receiver in Buffalo and they are a legit playoff contender. That means bombs away.
This week I am going to recommend an enemy trooper in Oakland Raiders wide receiver Seth Roberts. I like the kids style. If you can't stomach the idea of having a Raider on your team, might I recommend Kenny Stills of the Miami Dolphins, you have to project these guys mid-season on their targets and these two are both bending to break out.
Daily fantasy:
What fun is FanDuel if you don't get the satisfaction of grabbing someone on the cheap and watching him light up your scoreboard and wallet?
Go with these guys:
QB - Cam Newton, Tom Brady, Kirk Cousins, Blake Bortles, Drew Brees, Brian Hoyer
RB - Todd Gurley, Mark Ingram, Doug Martin, Jeremy Langford, Demarco Murray, Adrian Peterson, Darren McFadden, Charcandrick West, Latavius Murray, James Starks, Lamar Miller, T.J. Yeldon
WR - Odell Beckham, DeAndre Hopkins, Allen Robinson, Dez Bryant, Calvin Johnson, Demaryius Thomas, Mike Evans, A.J. Green, Randall Cobb, Antonio Brown, Amari Cooper, Michael Crabtree
TE - Rob Gronkowski, Greg Olsen, Jordan Reed, Delanie Walker, Tyler Eifert, Travis Kelce, Jimmy Graham, Gary Barnidge, Benjamin Watson, Eric Ebron
Avoid these guys:
QB - Nick Foles, Jay Cutler, Teddy Bridgewater, Carson Palmer, Marcus Mariota, Jameis Winston
RB - Joique Bell, Brandon Bolden, Alfred Morris, Rashad Jennings, Dexter McCluster, Darren Sproles, Ameer Abdullah, Chris Johnson
WR - James Jones, Robert Woods, Marquess Wilson, Terrance Williams, Josh Huff, Eddie Royal
TE - Lance Kendricks, Garrett Graham, Owen Daniels, Kyle Rudolph, Julius Thomas
Broncos players:
The Chiefs are a bit of a wild card, on the season they are the worst defense against fantasy wide receivers and mediocre against fantasy quarterbacks, but over the last four weeks they are fantasies best against wide receivers and quarterbacks. So, yeah... They're due? MHR's own Tim Lynch believes that this is Demaryius Thomas' breakout game. Despite the fact that his mother won't actually be able to attend the game.
I'd say start Demaryius Thomas, start Emmanuel Sanders if he plays (he is questionable as of Friday), don't get cute and start Andre Caldwell, Jordan Norwood or Bennie Fowler, though I probably will with one of them, especially in DFS. I can't trust Peyton Manning to score above the fantasy mean for quarterbacks, but I'd project him at 21 standard points this week. So, start him if that's the best that you have. I also included both Ronnie Hillman and C.J. Anderson in my sleepers pile this week, my thinking is that the Chiefs won't be able to pass on Denver's defense so the offense is going to have a lot of time to waste.
I have Vernon Davis in as an 'insane' this week and I'm starting him in at least one league where I need a prayer at tight end. I think that Owen Daniels was a one-hit wonder last week. I will need him to burn me from the waiver wire a few more weeks, before I can trust him to start on my roster. As always give Brandon McManus and the Broncos D/ST your full blessing. They're going to kill it.
Last week:
Peyton Manning... Well, yeah, start him, him failing in this game is just not in his character, with that in mind start Demaryius Thomas, Emmanuel Sanders, Ronnie Hillman and.... Vernon Davis (do you believe?). Well, maybe not Davis just yet, but roster him and enjoy the possible touchdown that he can pick up against the Indianapolis Colts. You will never have to ask whether to start the Denver defense or Brandon McManus again for the rest of the season.
Yes, I know that Ronnie Hillman has a bruised thigh... I don't know if that makes C.J. Anderson worth starting, I am going to guess that the answer is still no (despite him being top 5 last week).
My craziest DFS lineup this week:
Kirk Cousins, Mark Ingram, Jeremy Langford, DeAndre Hopkins, Odell Beckham Jr., Allen Robinson, Jordan Reed, Chris Boswell and Tennessee D/ST
