The Denver Broncos should come out in this game as angry wildmen looking for blood. That's the kid of defense we all hope this defense is, especially after a bad loss the week previously. The don't have to play dirty, just mean. Lots and lots of mean. If this game isn't a blowout defensive domination then I'll be severely disappointed.
The NFL scheduling gods set up the Kansas City Chiefs with every advantage to beat the Broncos at least once this year, with a short week primetime Thursday Night Football game at Arrowhead in Week 2 and then giving the Chiefs a Bye right before traveling to Denver for the rematch. So far, they have blown their best shot and now have only this next shot to even the score for the first time since 2011.
The key to my blowout prediction is Peyton Manning. He is nursing multiple injuries, but is also on the cusp of two big time quarterback records. He'll certainly break the yardage record today as he only needs three more yards for that, but he'll need to win the game to ensure he gets both today.
If the Chiefs are smart, they will play the run hard. With Emmanuel Sanders out, Manning will have to rely more on Demaryius Thomas and that might be a recipe for another multiple interception day for Manning. Those interceptions turn sure blowouts into close games, so I'm really counting on him taking care of the football today.
Prediction: Broncos 34, Chiefs 13
