As expected, Gary Kubiak announced on Monday that Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning will rest this week against the Chicago Bears, and Brock Osweiler will start. Manning will not practice and will be inactive, meaning the Broncos will activate third-string QB Trevor Siemian this week, Kubiak said.
Kubiak echoed earlier comments that Manning is Denver's starting quarterback if healthy and that this move was intended to rest Manning and get him healthy.
It will be Osweiler's first career start.
Kubiak said he spent an hour meeting with Manning today. Doesn't seem like Manning agreed with the decision, but understands it.
