The Philadelphia Eagles opened up as Vegas favorites against the Detroit Lions in this game, which I find a little suspect given the turmoil surrounding the Eagles right now with Chip Kelly and the team. Reports that he has lost the team and is on his way out are rumors that have all begun swarming around this team just in the last few days. Heck even fans are attending this game just so they can boo him. As a Broncos fans, its starting to get a very Josh McDaniels vibe over there. Given that fact, there is no way I'd take the Eagles in any situation right now.
Meanwhile, the Lions are on a two game winning streak and have always played hard on Thanksgiving Day. That streak has largely been the product of the worst rushing attack in NFL history morphing into a below average rushing attack. That may not sound like much, but having something that is at least marginally effective is better than having the worst something in NFL history.
I have the Lions getting some big plays from Matthew Stafford and Calvin Johnson to get a lead early in this game. Despite the early lead, I think the Eagles stick with DeMarco Murray to grind out a few scores along the way.
It won't be enough, but it will at least be a respectable loss just days after their home blowout defeat to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Prediction: Lions 27, Eagles 17
What is your prediction, Broncos Country?
