Broncos vs. Raiders Injury report: Ronnie Hillman good, Danny Trevathan out

If you have been loyally awaiting the injury report every day for weeks in hopes that Peyton Manning will practice and be healthy, well, today and the next few days aren't going to be yours, my friend.

Head coach Gary Kubiak declared Peyton Manning, Danny Trevathan and T.J. Ward out. He did have good news for the offensive backfield:

"Ronnie [Hillman] is good. Ronnie practiced today. C.J. [Anderson] did not. He's still sore, still very sore. I think that we still have a chance of getting him to game day and being available for us, but [RB] Juwan [Thompson] has had a good week. Ronnie looks fine. We'll see. We'll go from there, but I think C.J. still has a shot."

There also seems a way that Kapri Bibbs could be in uniform, but Kubiak did not go far enough to say that.

"Yeah, obviously you want that. I've played with two [running backs] before. On a given day, you kind of have some emergency ways that you could go about it. We just kind of have to look at the big picture right now. We have through tomorrow to make some of those decisions, look at the big picture and see what we think gives us the best chance this weekend."

Were you aware of who the real MVP was against the San Diego Chargers last week? It may very well have been newcomer Josh Bush, he was on the field for 4 plays, 3 defensive and 1 special teams. He managed 4 solo tackles and a forced fumble in the 4 plays that he participated in.

"The good news is that he was with us throughout the course of the offseason and played a little bit last week, so I'm comfortable. I think that getting [safety] Shiloh [Keo] here, knowing our defense and the situation that we're in that he can go in there and know exactly what's going on, which is really important to us right now. Probably the biggest thing is that it's filtered through special teams and those types of things have some big concerns. We just have to muster it up and find a way. That's part of what we do."

Kubiak informed the media that Sylvester Williams would be probable, while safety David Bruton (along with Vernon Davis, Anderson, HIllman, Omar Bolden, Andre Caldwell, and Bennie Fowler were all questionable.

With Trevathan out, inside linebacker Todd Davis will get the start:

"I like him a lot. He's very detailed. I'll say this, no player has had a better week of practice than that guy from me watching practice. I'm excited to see him play. There's a lot on his plate. He still does special teams stuff and those types of things, but he's worked really hard for this opportunity, so I'm excited to watch him play."

"For me, I would love to play defense, but right now being a backup to Danny and Brandon [Marshall], with my role on special teams I want to take full advantage and give everything I have to it. I definitely love playing [special teams]. This week I'll be playing both, so it's going to be fun for me.."
