This appears to be the worst Thursday Night Game the schedule makers could have ever dreamed up, but like other apparent potential snoozefests this year, I think we might actually have an interesting game here. Two of the NFL's premier rushers will be featured heavily tonight with Doug Martin (1,214 yards) and Todd Gurley (975 yards) look to continue their tear through the 2015 regular season.
The better team is clearly the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as they have a quarterback in Jameis Winston that looks to be a quality starter in this league and he has the weapons on offense that the other team simply cannot match.
However, the St. Louis Rams are a scrappy team at times and with them being at home in front of their own crowd it should help equalize the talent disadvantage some. Gurley should get the ball early and often in this game and despite teams only focused on stopping him, he still gets the job done.
This game is tough to call. I want to go with the Buccaneers, but I keep thinking back to the last time Gurley struggled before having a monster game. That monster game kicked off a Rams winning streak, so I think I'm going to go against my brain and go with the gut tonight.
Prediction: Rams 24, Buccaneers 20
