On NFL Network this morning, Ian Rapoport emphatically suggested that Peyton Manning would not be inclined to be Brock Osweiler's backup once he is fully healthy.

"Let me take you inside a very uncomfortable and difficult situation in Denver. Of course about Peyton Manning, he has been inactive today - not serving as the back up for Brock Osweiler, but it is a trying time for Peyton Manning who has always been a starter for his entire career. It does not sound like he is inclined to be Brock Osweiler's backup. That is one issue, I am told, he is pretty serious about."

Those were some pretty strong words. So strong, in fact, that John Elway himself took to Twitter in response to this report.

Elway and Gary Kubiak will not be able to avoid a final decision on Manning before the playoffs, but for now the Denver Broncos must stay focused on simply getting to the playoffs.

The drama is building in Denver. And not the good kind of drama.

What do you think about this situation, Broncos Country?
