Horse Tracks: Manning to have a "big workout" today

New, comments

Good Morning Broncos Country

Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

Denver Broncos Head Coach Gary Kubiak spoke to the media earlier this week and told reporters that veteran quarterback Peyton Manning has a "big workout" planned for Saturday.

Kubiak said he would watching this workout to see where his veteran quarterback is health wise.

Manning has been out since November 15th when the Broncos hosted their division rival Kansas City Chiefs. Since then, backup quarterback Brock Osweiler has led the Broncos to a 3-2 record.

It will be interesting to see what comes from this workout. If Manning shows signs of progression and Osweiler struggles again on Sunday, they could potentially start Manning week 17. That, however, does seem doubtful at this stage.

I still think Manning going to IR is the likely end game in this situation. If the Broncos do make the playoffs this year, do they really want the Manning cloud hanging over them? We'll soon find out.
